J.Press was started in 1902 at Yale University. Enough said. It can’t get much better for a preppy heritage story. J.Press has earned the reputation as the tailor-of-choice for generations and is the embodiment of classic Ivy style. And with their line York St., J.Press offers a “new turn on American style.” We like this a lot.
Slimmer fitting, unexpected fabrics and of course the perfect design details, York St. has it all. Their Dress collection is perfect for the Hip Daddy Office while the Casual collection is ideal for the Hip Daddy Weekend. Their shorts are awesome, and different from your typical JCREW khaki short or Nantucket Red that everyone seems to wear come summertime. And even better, the line is affordable so multiple purchases might be in store. Finally, the short looks perfect with a white Chuck Taylor or a Jack Purcell…and maybe a Milgauss or Tudor on the wrist…#justsayin.
The collection started with Creative Directors Ariel and Shimon Ovadia, who were named GQ’s Best New Menswear Designers in America in 2012. From a dorm room at Yale to amazing designers, this brand has a story to tell..and a product you simply need. So check out their flagship store on Bleecker St which is awesome and a must-visit….and for you Bostonians, there is a Cambridge outpost and of course available at Sault. Well done all around J.Press, you are most def Hip Daddy Approved.
