We first discovered this at a dorm room in Middlebury, Vermont in the late 90’s.  Our roommate told us to try it, we did, and have been addicted since.  Now now now…unlike many other things found in dorm rooms throughout the lovely state of Vermont, this wasn’t “that”…and it sure wasn’t Ben & Jerrys.  Instead, it was a little bottle of blue that has transformed our lives and world of shaving since we first met it.

Hopefully by now, all you Hip Daddys have heard of Kiehl’s.  It is a cosmetics brand retailer that specializes in making premium skin, hair, and body care products, founded as a single pharmacy at Third Avenue and East 13th Street in 1851.  Hello heritage.  Hello NYC!  So yes, this brand has tons of stories to tell.  Yes, they make amazing products for all you Hip Daddys from shaving cream to moisturizers to lotions.  Yes, they were once known for all the samples they would give you with every purchase…you walked out with tons of stuff.  Yes, their stores are beautiful, carefully crafted with exquisite design.  But we are here to talk about one product, and only one, so this post will be as simple as the product itself…

The Kiehl’s Herbal Blue Astringent is simply ‘the best ever.’   Although described as “a unique facial toner for use on oily-prone areas”, we think of it as the post-shave must.  Use it after any shave, and you will never experience any in-grown hairs, rashes, blemishes, or any sort of skin irritations…it’s that good.  Shave, apply moisturizer, then splash on some of the “blue stuff” and you are good to go.  We promise.  There is really nothing left to be said.

Kiehl’s has been around for an eternity.  For a reason.  Try the Blue Astringent and your Hip Daddy grooming lifestyle gets a lot easier.  More time to play with the kids, less time worrying about anything bothering you on your face and neck!  Go buy some.  This is our first entry into the  ‘Hip Daddy Hall of Fame.’  Wow.
