Poached Eggs…Here’s How.

Every Hip Daddy likes some kitchen time, especially when making one of our favorite dishes for the kids. ¬†And it’s always nice to experiment once in awhile, spice things up a bit- and not just in the kitchen if you catch our drift ūüôā ¬†Anyhow, back to the task at hand…eggs. ¬†We love eggs. ¬†Scrambled, fried, a delicious omelette; eggs make us happy, and our kids too. ¬†Not to mention they are a healthy start to any day, easy and fast, and can inspire some creativity too. ¬†So let’s talk about the poached egg.

It might seem daunting at first, but poached eggs are actually quite simple to make. ¬†The Hip Daddy way is as follows: boil some water in a small saucepan, crack an egg into a separate measuring cup (a longer handle helps), reduce heat to bring water to a simmer while still seeing some bubbles, slowly guide the egg into the water with the measuring cup, cook for 4 minutes, remove egg with larger spoon, and let dry. ¬† It’s that simple. ¬†Now the fun begins…

The perfect poached egg sandwich. ¬†Toast some bread, add the avocado, slice of cheese, some well done bacon, add the poached egg…boom, you just created a beauty of a sandwich that you and the kids will first, devour, then ask for another. ¬†Yum.¬† Or how about a little dinner time fun? ¬†Put a poached egg on a juicy cheeseburger or veggie burger and you just out did Shake Shack and Tasty Burger #justlikethat.

Don’t underestimate the power of the poached. ¬†It’s Monday, eat some eggs.
