In this week’s Hip Daddy Spotlight, we visit with the Founder & CEO of Isaora, a men’s premium performance and progressive style clothing company based in NYC.
Tell us about your child. What’s it like being a father?
Henri Zion is the cutest little schmooper in the world, exceptionally curious, always smiling, and altogether basically perfect. Being a dad is wicked fun, and while I know I’m just getting started as Henri is only 11 months old, rumor has it only gets better. Of course, he has a ways to go before he steals all the liquor, crashes my car and and does all sorts of other ridiculously idiotic stuff, but my parents seem to still love me, so I’m not too worried about it.
Talk to us about your parenting style.
Other than doing whatever Karolin (my wife tells me to do), I’m pretty laid back. I suppose mostly I try to observe Henri interact with the world. He is a happy one, so mostly I hang out with him and follow his lead.
What’s the one thing you cannot live without as a dad?
My supermom wife (@karolinwolter).
What’s next on the horizon for Isaora?
World domination.
How do you balance being the CEO / Founder of a New York City start-up with the duties of being a dad?
Well I’m not sure I do such a good job of the the whole balancing thing, but fortunately I have the aforementioned supermom/wife which makes things a lot easier. Someone once told me that if you need someone to do something for you, find a busy person because busy people get things done. So I guess now I’m one of those busy people.
As the CEO / Founder of ISAORA, you must think about clothes constantly. What is your favorite piece of clothing? What is your favorite piece of clothing for Henri?
Actually I used to care far more about clothes than I do now, at least when it comes to my own personal wardrobe and overall fashion, these things most certainly take a back seat. Perhaps it’s less a function of time and more due to the fact that I’m surrounded by fabric and fashion all day and everyday so it’s probably some sort of subconscious resistance. As for my favorite piece of clothing these days, it’s without a doubt our ISAORA Training Tracking Pant – I basically live in them. When it comes to Henri, it’s a different story altogether, I can shop for him anytime. His OshKosh B’gosh overalls are pretty hard to beat.
