It’s mid August which means the heat is on and the sun is shining bright.  Which means…you need to protect your family’s skin…stat, and often.  A true Hip Daddy knows how to apply sunscreen to the kids in a manner that all Hip Mommys envy (LOL) and other Hip Daddys will be asking for pointers.  Now, it’s half technique and other half….the product itself.

Tons of different options out there, for both grown ups and kids.  We are liking what the folks straight outta Cocoa Beach, Florida are doing with this wonderful little brand called Sun Bum:  “In 2010 we created a new high quality lifestyle brand of sun care products specifically formulated for people who live and love in the sun. A brand that captures the essence of the outdoor lifestyle while protecting ourselves, and the ones we love, from the harmful dangers of the sun. We’re not a giant disconnected corporation. We’re a small company in Cocoa Beach, Florida that makes a serious sunscreen we entrust to protect our very own kids, spouses, and friends.”  Love this, and you can feel the passion and fun behind the company as well.  We initially came across Sun Bum because of their cool and nicely designed in-store displays, catches the eye and presents the brand in the perfect fashion…and of course the monkey logo (named “Sonny”…perfect) is a obviously going to get the kids interested…so, well done all around with the branding!

Their Original Sunscreen Lotion is all you really need, but grab some of the Lip Balm too (many flavors to choose from), as the lips need some love too, and protection.
