It’s a New Year, which means certain health related things are trending, and yes, Sauna therapy is indeed one such topic all the influencers and media outlets are talking about.
Now, the Hip Daddy HQ may not have a Sauna, but we’ve been on heat therapy for over a decade…thank you Equinox! Yes, that’s right, although steam rooms are our OG jam, the sauna room has become a core component to our weekly regimen as it relates to our health and overall relaxation.
Saunas have come a long way over the years…from infrared to these new outdoor barrel capsules that are poppin up everywhere…including Equinox (thanks again.) Although people swear by infrared, we just don’t sweat as much and don’t understand if it actually works better- marketing? We do love this idea of sauna outdoors where you can be looking at snow but in 150 degrees heat. Even better, the ‘communal’ nature of these Saunas are also interesting 🙂 Not to be #creepy here, but being in a co-ed hot sauna with perhaps an attractive sweating female is…yes…Hip Daddy Approved. LOL. Ok, we won’t go there. Alas, co-ed or not, these spaces are hot and healthy.
Btw, we didn’t cover the healthy part persay. In a recent study straight outta Finland, it is showing for those who steam at least 20 minutes 4x week, you reduce your risk of things like Alzheimer’s by like 40%!!! This data is staggering but perhaps huge for all Hip Daddy (and Mommy) health! So you might always ask yourself if that gym membership at $250-$350/month is worth it…well, if they have a sauna, it most def is.
